UK AI Council Launch Event
Heron House
The independent, not-for-profit membership body for everyone shaping, building, and using artificial intelligence in the UK. From free student membership to organisational partnerships, we exist to raise national competence and turn ambition into adoption.
About us
The UK AI Council brings together end-users, builders, thought leaders, educators and institutions under one roof. Becoming a true AI nation takes more than strategy documents and investment announcements; it takes a broad, competent base of people and organisations who know how to use, govern and advance AI. That is the gap we fill.
We do this through membership pathways, practical training and recognition, a national events programme, academic partnerships, and evidence-based insight, working within existing frameworks such as NIST, ISO and the EU AI Act rather than adding another standard of our own.

Membership
A genuine progression, from Affiliate through to Fellow — each tier assessed on demonstrated competence, not tenure alone.
The first paid membership grade, designed for people who want formal recognition of their foundation-level AI literacy and a clear pathway into professional membership.

One benefit of membership
A weekly roundup of UK AI developments, included with every membership tier.
We haven't published an issue yet — there's no back catalogue to catch up on. Join as a member now and the first one lands straight in your inbox the day it goes out.
First issue: 7 September 2026
Join to get it on day oneWhat we do
Training and certification, policy and best practice, and research and advocacy: three ways we help the UK build genuine AI capability.

For organisations
Every employee gets discounted access to individual membership, training, events and resources. Four tiers, Micro through Large, priced by headcount, not by seats used.
